Hilo Reeds Bay Hotel

We ate in the magnificent restaurant for dinner which was reasonably priced. It was overlooking the ocean the view was great👌

The location was favourable, very close to airport n, the famous garden and the downtown and the distance to various locations like the volcano national park or Mauna Loa/Kea or to Akaka Falls. Had a really comfortable stay in our big size and cheap room with three beds.

This place was ideal and the staff was really kind and nice. We ate in the great restaurant for dinner which was reasonably priced. The location was marvellous and lovely and the free parking was onsite. You could walk to the Farmer's market and a market. The airport was 5 km away. We had a comfortable stay and would recommend this hotel to friends.

The property is in bad condition, the price per night ($100) is definitely too much.

I loved the comfy king-sized bed and spacious room! The staff were friendly and helpful, but it was annoying that there was no AC, just fans 🙄

The Reeds Bay offered a fantastic location with fine ocean views. The staff were friendly, providing support when I needed assistance with my presentation materials. The room was spacious and had a clean kitchenette, convenient for preparing light meals .

The lobby area was outdated and lacked modern aesthetics.

The view from my room was fine, looking right over Hilo Bay. Each morning offered a beautiful sunrise, made waking up good. The room was clean, equipped with a little kitchenette, a huge plus for coffee in the morning. I appreciated the friendly interactions with the staff, who seemed genuinely eager to ensure I had a good stay. The lack of air conditioning was a challenge. On humid days, even with the provided fans, it felt sticky. Parking spots looked cramped. I could see larger vehicles struggling. Noise from the adjacent apartments was a bit bothersome, especially at night. Despite these issues, the hotel's charm and location kept me from being too bothered. I'd recommend it for those looking for an affordable stay with lovely views, but be prepared for a few inconveniences.

Charming, Charming, Charming

I enjoyed waking up to the soothing sounds of waves crashing against the shore. The kitchen in my Beautiful King Studio was perfect for brewing my morning coffee while soaking in the fine ocean views. Plus, the little touches from the attentive staff.

Although clean, the overall ambiance felt shabby, and the security of the doors was a concern. Free parking and the sight of turtles just outside my window added charm to the experience.

Strongly recommend for a transient stop

Clean room, convenient location, the nearby beach park provides a lovely spot for morning walks, and the recently renovated studio had a nice balcony with a view of the harbor.
